Opening remarks[]
We men can't really blame our wives for complaining about the arduous house work they have to do each day. There's the washing machine to be switched on, the washing up machine to be switched on, the coffee percolator to be switched on and Jimmy Young to be switched off. Of course, Captain Povey's wife never complains about the work she has to do, she can't she doesn't do any. She's fortunate in having the complete labour-saving device, her husband Henry.
