I suppose we all regret the telephone was ever invented at times. Only this week I was sitting at home when my phone rang and a pal of mine at Broadcasting House said 'Have you heard the news?' when I said I hadn't he said 'Well neither has anyone else, YOU were supposed to be here reading it!' Well, now it's Captain Povey's turn to wish the telephone didn't exist because he's getting an electric earful from the Admiral's Superintendent of the dock yard.
